WOU Frequency Music™ values your privacy. This policy explains how WOU Frequency Music™ collects, uses and protects information on the website and in the WOU app.
Account: the email address and an encrypted password, or the basic Google profile details used to sign in with Google.
Payments: website payments are handled by Stripe and app payments by Google Play. WOU Frequency Music™ never receives or stores full card details. Only the plan, billing status and renewal date are kept.
Listening: minutes listened per day, songs and categories played, likes and playlists, together with the time zone of the device. This powers the listening streak, Free this week, listening statistics, Most Popular and plan features.
Invites: when a friend joins with an invite link, the invite code is stored so both accounts can receive the invite bonus.
WOU app: a device identifier used to protect songs saved for offline listening (Platinum), Google Play Integrity checks that confirm the app is genuine and, for free accounts, advertising information described below.
Information is used to run the account and subscription, deliver songs available on each plan, provide features such as the listening streak and offline listening, send service emails and the optional weekly email, prevent misuse and improve the service. WOU Frequency Music™ does not sell, trade or share personal information with third parties for their own marketing.
Accounts receive essential service emails such as password resets and billing notices. The weekly email with Free this week songs and new releases, plus occasional reminders after a long break, can be switched off in one click from any email or in My Profile.
Free accounts in the WOU app are supported by Google AdMob. AdMob may use the device advertising ID and similar information to show and measure ads, subject to the consent choices offered in the app and the ad settings of the device. Paying members do not see ads. Rewarded ads are confirmed with Google so that rewards such as a saved streak day are applied correctly.
The website stores login tokens and small preferences in the browser to keep the session active. A short-lived cookie remembers an invite code until sign-up. Google Analytics is used to understand how the website is used, in aggregate.
Trusted providers process information on behalf of WOU Frequency Music™: Stripe (website payments), RevenueCat (checks Google Play and App Store purchases so the plan works on the app and the website), Google (sign-in, Google Play billing, AdMob, Play Integrity and Analytics), MongoDB Atlas (database hosting) and the email delivery service. Each receives only what is needed for its task.
Industry-standard measures protect information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication tokens, encrypted password storage, signed and time-limited song links and encrypted offline song files that play only inside the WOU app.
Information is kept while the account is open. An account can be deleted at any time in My Profile on the website, in the WOU app or as described on the Delete Account page. Deleting removes the account, playlists, likes, listening history, streak progress and invite rewards. Payment records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.
The service is not directed at children under 13 and accounts should be created by an adult. Songs in the Babies category are meant to be played by parents and carers.
