What is WOU Frequency Music™?
WOU Frequency Music™ is a premium therapeutic frequency music app built for healing, calm, sleep and focus. Every song is intentionally crafted with specific frequency pure tones that have been documented throughout history for their restorative properties, blended with classical instruments, ambient textures and natural soundscapes. Alongside frequency music, the library includes nature sounds, meditation music and dedicated categories for babies, pets and plants. Most apps offer one or two of these. WOU Frequency Music™ brings them all together, with new songs and categories added regularly.
How does frequency healing work?
Sound healing is rooted in the principle that everything in the universe vibrates at specific frequencies, including the cells and organs in the body. When listening to sound at particular frequencies, the body can naturally attune to those vibrations through a process known as entrainment. For example, the Solfeggio frequencies (ranging from 174 Hz to 963 Hz) have origins in ancient musical traditions and Gregorian chants and each frequency is associated with specific healing properties. 528 Hz is often called the Love Frequency for its association with harmony and emotional balance, while 432 Hz is known as the natural tuning frequency that promotes deep relaxation. Gamma brain frequencies around 40 Hz are actively being studied in modern neuroscience for their potential benefits in cognitive function and brain health. WOU Frequency Music™ weaves these documented frequencies into rich, layered compositions so that the therapeutic benefits come with genuinely beautiful music.
What subscription plans are available?
WOU Frequency Music™ offers four plans. The Free plan plays 5 selected songs in full, every nature sound and 5 Platinum songs that change every week. The Basic plan unlocks 15 songs from 8 healing categories with no ads. The Gold plan opens up 50 songs with song looping and up to 3 custom playlists. The Platinum plan includes the full library of more than 150 songs and still increasing, up to 10 custom playlists, every new song added to the platform and 12 hours of offline listening in the WOU app. Every plan includes 30-second previews of every song, so the full library can be explored before choosing a plan. Plans are monthly or yearly and yearly plans save about 17%.
Why are prices not shown on the Plans page?
Prices are shown in each listener's local currency, so they appear once an account is created. Joining is free and takes a few seconds. After joining, the Plans page shows the monthly and yearly price of every plan.
What is Free this week?
Every Monday at midnight local time, 5 Platinum songs from different categories become free for everyone below Platinum. Free accounts play them in full and Basic and Gold members enjoy them with no ads. The selection changes every week and a song does not return for at least 8 weeks. The Home page shows a countdown to the next change and marks the last day.
Are the nature sounds free?
Yes. The whole nature sounds collection plays in full for everyone, including free accounts. It includes sounds such as rain, thunderstorms, campfire, gentle wind and summer night crickets, with more being added.
How is Most Popular decided?
Most Popular on the Home page is decided by listeners. Each month, categories are ranked by the average number of likes per song during the previous month. A category needs at least 3 songs and at least 10 likes that month to qualify, so one very popular song cannot carry a whole category. When two categories are level, the one with more total likes ranks higher. Liking songs helps other listeners discover the best of the library.
What is the listening streak?
The listening streak is an optional reward for free accounts in the WOU app. Simply listen each day and the app counts the day. Seven days in a row completes the streak and unlocks a Platinum song of choice for 30 days. A missed day can be saved the next day by watching a short ad, but two missed days in a row start the streak again. Paying members save days without ads. Only one earned song is held at a time and each completed streak allows a new choice. The earned song plays in the WOU app. Platinum members already have every song, so the streak does not apply to them.
How does Invite a friend work?
Every account has a personal invite link in My Profile. When a friend joins with that link and starts listening, both accounts receive a reward. The friend enjoys 7 days of Basic for free. The inviter receives 7 days of the next plan up: Free members enjoy Basic, Basic members enjoy Gold and Gold members enjoy Platinum. Platinum members receive 7 extra days added before their next payment, on monthly and yearly plans alike. Up to 10 invite rewards can be earned per account.
Can I upgrade my plan later?
Absolutely. Plans can be upgraded at any time from My Profile. When upgrading, Stripe (an internationally trusted and secured payment gateway) automatically calculates the unused time remaining on the current plan and credits that amount toward the new plan. This means only the difference is paid and time already paid for is never charged twice. The billing cycle date remains the same. For example, 6 months into a Basic yearly plan, an upgrade to Gold receives a credit for the 6 months of Basic not yet used and that credit reduces the cost of the Gold plan. Upgrades are charged at the standard rate rather than promotional pricing.
Can I downgrade my plan?
Yes. Plans can be downgraded at any time from My Profile. The current plan and all its features stay available until the end of the current billing period. Once that period ends, the account automatically switches to the lower plan, so the full value of what was already paid is always received.
What happens when I cancel?
A subscription can be cancelled at any time from My Profile with no cancellation fees or penalties. Full access to the paid plan continues until the end of the current billing period. After that, the account automatically returns to the Free plan, which still includes 5 songs, every nature sound and Free this week. Playlists and preferences are saved, so everything is right where it was left after resubscribing.
What payment methods are accepted?
On the website, all payments are securely processed through Stripe, one of the most trusted payment platforms in the world. Card details are protected by the same level of security used by some of the largest companies in the world and WOU Frequency Music™ never sees or stores them. Subscriptions in the WOU app are processed through Google Play using its secure billing system.
Is my payment information secure?
Yes. On the website, all payments go through Stripe, which is trusted by millions of businesses worldwide and meets the highest international standards for payment security. Card details are encrypted and handled entirely by Stripe, so WOU Frequency Music™ never has access to the full card number or security code. Purchases in the WOU app are handled by Google Play and its own secure payment system.
Is WOU Frequency Music™ made with AI?
No. Every song on WOU Frequency Music™ is created by a person, with care, around its specific frequencies. No song is generated by artificial intelligence.
How is the audio quality different from other platforms?
Most mainstream streaming platforms apply heavy audio compression during their encoding process to reduce file sizes and save bandwidth. While this works fine for casual music listening, compression can alter the precise frequencies that are responsible for the therapeutic benefits in healing music. WOU Frequency Music™ adds no further processing or compression to the audio files, for the best healing and listening effect.
How long is each song?
Every full song is 30 minutes long. This duration is intentional, as therapeutic frequency music works best over sustained periods that give the body and mind time to attune to the frequencies through entrainment. A 30-minute session fits naturally into yoga, sleep preparation, study sessions, creativity or quiet relaxation time. Songs outside the current plan have a 30-second preview to get a feel for the composition before deciding whether to upgrade.
Can I use the music for my pets or plants?
Yes and many listeners do exactly that. WOU Frequency Music™ includes dedicated categories for animals and plants. The Cats category uses 528 Hz frequencies that have been documented to produce calming effects in felines, while the Dogs category uses 432 Hz frequencies associated with relaxation and stress relief for canines. There are also songs for fish and bunnies. The Plants category features frequencies from 125 Hz to 1000 Hz that have been studied for their positive effects on plant growth and vitality. Many listeners report calmer pets and healthier plants after bringing frequency music into the home.
Is WOU Frequency Music™ the same as binaural beats?
No. Binaural beats play a slightly different tone in each ear and only work through headphones, for one listener at a time. WOU Frequency Music™ does not use binaural beats. Each song is built on real frequency pure tones that play through any speaker, so the whole room can share them, including babies, pets and plants. Many listeners find the effect very similar, which makes WOU Frequency Music™ a popular binaural beats alternative for anyone who wants music like binaural beats without headphones, especially for sleep.
Do I need headphones?
No. Every song plays through a phone, tablet, computer or any speaker. Headphones are welcome for private listening but are never required, so it is easy to fall asleep with the music playing in the room.
Where should I place the speaker?
Place the speaker at a comfortable distance, never right up close to the listener, a baby, a pet or a plant. Placing a speaker too close is never a good idea. The best spot is a distance where the music is comfortably audible without being loud, so the sound can fill the space gently.
What if a frequency tone feels hard on my ears or uncomfortable?
Start with the nature sounds series. Nature sounds help the body settle into grounding energy and build up the momentum to receive frequencies comfortably. From there, move up the frequency ladder step by step at a pace that feels right. Listen to the body and adjust the comfort level, including the volume, whenever needed.
What are custom playlists and how do I use them?
Custom playlists group songs together around personal healing goals and daily routines. For sharper focus during work or study, a playlist of songs from the Gamma Brain series (40 Hz) is a good start. For a calming time with pets, a playlist combining the Cats (528 Hz) and Dogs (432 Hz) categories works well. A sleep playlist with songs from the Sleep category supports deep rest, while a morning playlist of Solfeggio tones brings positive energy to the day. The possibilities are entirely up to each listener. Gold members can create up to 3 custom playlists and Platinum members up to 10, for a complete personal sound healing programme for different times of day, moods and needs.
Do Platinum members get new songs automatically?
Yes. As the WOU Frequency Music™ library continues to grow, Platinum members receive every new song added to the platform at no additional cost. The Platinum library currently includes more than 150 songs and is still increasing, so it expands over time without any action needed. Other plans include their set number of songs as defined by the plan.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. The website is ideal for listening at a desk or on a computer. For listening on the go, and for more features, the WOU app is the best way to enjoy WOU Frequency Music™. The WOU app for Android is coming soon to Google Play, and the iPhone app on the Apple App Store will follow after that. It brings uninterrupted background play with lock screen controls, Android Auto in the car, a sleep timer that gently fades the music out and listening alongside other apps. Music pauses on its own when headphones are unplugged or a call comes in and carries on afterwards. Platinum members can also listen offline for up to 12 hours. The same account and plan work on both the website and the app.
Can I listen offline?
Platinum members can save up to 24 songs (about 12 hours of listening) for offline play in the WOU app, on 1 phone. Because every song is saved in full quality, the 24 songs can be swapped for others at any time. Saved songs stay encrypted inside the app and play only there. The app needs to go online at least once every 30 days to keep offline songs playing, which happens on its own whenever the app is opened with internet. Saved songs never need to be downloaded again. Offline listening is not available on the website.
Does streaming use a lot of mobile data?
WOU Frequency Music™ streams every song in full quality with no added compression, so the healing frequencies reach you exactly as they were created. Like any music app, streaming uses data, and full-quality audio uses more than compressed music. For long sessions, Wi-Fi is the comfortable choice. Platinum members can also save songs for offline listening in the WOU app.
Are there ads?
Paying members never see ads. Free accounts in the WOU app are supported by ads, which never interrupt a song, never cover the player controls and never appear in the car. The website does not interrupt songs with ads either.
Can I listen in the car?
Yes. The WOU app supports Android Auto. Songs available on the current plan play in the car with no ads and other songs play their 30-second preview. Bluetooth car controls also work for play, pause and skipping songs.
Why does the music stop on my phone when I switch apps?
This is a known limitation of mobile web browsers, particularly Chrome on Android. To conserve battery and memory, mobile browsers suspend background tabs after a while, which stops audio playback. For uninterrupted listening on a phone, the WOU app for Android (coming soon to Google Play) plays in the background with the screen off. When listening in a mobile browser, keeping the browser tab open and on screen gives the best result.
How do I stop the weekly email?
Every email from WOU Frequency Music™ has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that works in one click. The weekly email can also be switched off or on at any time in My Profile.
How do I delete my account?
An account can be deleted in My Profile on the website or in the WOU app. Deleting removes the account, playlists, likes and listening history. A website subscription is cancelled straight away, while a Google Play subscription must be cancelled in Google Play. Full details are on the Delete Account page.
